Welcome to On the Horizen, your one-stop-shop for everything to know about the current standard meta provided by members of the Hype Horizen team themselves! Every Friday, you can expect a detailed Hearthstone Meta Report and some tips for how to maneuver through it.

Introduction | Hearthstone Meta Report August 7

This will also be a hot spot for other articles written by team members. PLEASE NOTE: This week we’re waiting for the meta to settle and this report’s statistics are from HSReplay.net and do not contain special insight from HypeHorizen Team Members.

The Scholomance Academy expansion is underway. It’s still very early to determine what classes, decks and archetypes will rule the meta. Players are experimenting with cards and new decks to find the most viable decks that will compete on the ladder.

Most Popular Cards | According to HSReplay.net August 8, 2020

Early reports show that Nature Studies is the most popular card with over 27,000 plays since the start of the new meta. Coming in closely behind it is Lightning Bloom with 26,000 games. Unlike Lightning Bloom being a Dual Class card for Druid and Shaman, Nature Studies is solely a Druid class card. As a result of this, one could surmise that Druid is a popular class dominating the game or at the very least, a class that has the most experimentation.

Tier 1

According to the Last 24 hours on HSReplay.net, Paladin takes the top two spots with Pure Paladin alone in Tier 1 sporting a 60.62% win rate and Murloc Paladin at 57.22%. Spell Druid and Tempo Demon Hunter are the most popular decks with 10.51% of Hearthstone players piloting Spell Druid and 8.35% of players laddering at Legend running with Tempo Demon Hunter.

Despite its dominating win percentage Pure Paladin with a play rate of 5.28% is piloted almost half the time of Spell Druid. Interestingly, Highlander Hunter is the most popular deck in the Meta to reach Legend with 15.03% of players using it at Diamond Rank 1.

Conclusion | Adjustment Meta Report

For the most part, this week’s report is an “Adjustment Meta Report” it’s still too early to determine what the best decks are. As experimentation and the meta evolves, we can expect a whole new range of archetypes, decks and popular cards.

A full meta report written by a HypeHorizen Team Member will be back next Friday.

It’s the most exciting time of the year when a new expansion goes live. Everyone get in there and enjoy it. Until next week, happy experimenting!
