Hearthstone Meta Report – December 4

Introduction | December 4 Hearthstone Meta
Welcome to On the Horizen, your one-stop-shop for everything to know about the current standard meta provided by members of the Hype Horizen team themselves! Every Friday you can expect a detailed report on the meta as a whole and some tips for how to maneuver through it. This will also be a hot spot for other articles written by team members. PLEASE NOTE: All information is based on personal experience + personal statistics gathered through many hours of high-level gameplay.

Meta Overview | December 4 Hearthstone Meta
It has been approximately two weeks since the launch of the new expansion, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire. It is still a very aggro heavy meta as Demon Hunter is hard dominating, similar to the early days of Ashes of Outland. The OTK and skipper package of Control Warrior has anti-aggro parts and win condition against heavy value decks. Other weaker classes, such as Hunter and Druid, struggle to find their place in this meta.

Best Decks | December 4 Hearthstone Meta
Soul Demon Hunter and Control Warrior are definitely the most popular picks because they can adapt to each match up accordingly. Other decent decks such as Secret Rogue and Evolve Shaman are falling slightly behind because they are not favored against warrior and Demon Hunter. However, weaker decks such as Clown Druid and the newly created Tempo Priest might strive because of the insane amount of warrior and Demon Hunter on ladder.

Closing Thoughts | December 4 Hearthstone Meta
For ladder gameplay, Soul Demon Hunter, Control Warrior, and their counter decks will be a decent pick for climbing. Nerfs are expected to come soon because there have been too many complaints about Demon Hunter’s aggro and skipper package being broken. For tournament lineups, I suggest watching the world series which is coming up in two weeks for the expert lineups.
Enjoy my opinions above and I hope to see you at top legend soon!
