Hearthstone Meta Report – January 14

Introduction

Welcome to On the Horizen, your one-stop-shop for everything to know about the current standard meta provided by members of the Hype Horizen team themselves! Every Friday you can expect a detailed report on the meta as a whole and some tips for how to maneuver through it. This will also be a hot spot for other articles written by team members. PLEASE NOTE: All information is based on personal experience + personal statistics gathered through many hours of high-level gameplay.

Meta Overview

Not much has changed in the last week. Popularity in some of the played decks have shifted, and things have settled more than evolved. That being said, there is a patch on the Horizen, so with a big BG’s update changes are going to come to both Standard and Wild. Rogue is still the most powerful class prevalent by it’s popularity and 2 very viable strategies. Libram Paladin and Quest Warrior have picked up a bit of momentum, but people aren’t really bringing anything new to the table.

Best Decks

Last week, ClarkHELLSCREAM said Thief Rogue is “easily the best deck in the game against the general meta,” and that still holds true. There was some minor shuffling this week, as a few other decks got some interest, but all in all, the top deck is right there for you.

Closing Thoughts

There wasn’t much to say about the Meta changing. But that’s normally what happens in a healthy card game. January 25th is when the new patch is supposed to drop. Until then, stay tuned to HypeHorizen.com, where we have all your patch previews. There should be one more meta report before the patch, so we will be able to give you the skinny before it goes live. Thanks for tuning in, and stay HYPE!

I have been playing video games since before most of you were born, starting with Colecovision and an Atari 2600. Before esports were around, I played Rainbow Six 2: Rogue Spear at the highest competitive level. Now a father thrice over, I spend some of my extra time streaming games like Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone and most recently Fortnite.
