Hearthstone Meta Report – March 18

Welcome to On the Horizen, your one-stop-shop for everything to know about the current standard meta provided by members of the Hype Horizen team themselves! Every Friday you can expect a detailed report on the meta as a whole and some tips for how to maneuver through it. This will also be a hot spot for other articles written by team members. PLEASE NOTE: All information is based on personal experience + personal statistics gathered through many hours of high-level gameplay.
Meta Overview
With the announcement of the new expansion Voyage to the Sunken launching April 12th, Standard was given a new legendary card immediately. Blademaster Okani, a powerful new disruption tool isn’t exactly enough to warp the meta on its own, but it seems to be viable in quite a few decks thus far. The card was going to be playable in the Masters Tournament this weekend, but the delay of the patch on mobile caused it to remain out.
Kazakusan Druid has been very popular in recent weeks, so a lot of players have moved to more aggressive decks as a counter. This has resulted in other decks becoming playable and more of an overall variety.

Best Decks
The top decks remain relatively similar to the past couple weeks and should stay this way until the rotation and new expansion. Burn Shaman seems to be the most powerful deck in the game due to its matchup spread.

Closing Thoughts
The meta should stay around the same until the new expansion, but we may see some changes in between to set up for the rotation. All of the decks listed above can achieve the highest ranks, it’s mostly about how you can adapt to the meta around your rank. It will be exciting to see how players utilize Blademaster Okani in the coming weeks, maybe enabling more archetypes to be viable!
