Welcome to On the Horizen, your one-stop-shop for everything to know about the current standard meta provided by members of the Hype Horizen team themselves! Every Friday you can expect a detailed report on the meta as a whole and some tips for how to maneuver through it. This will also be a hot spot for other articles written by team members. PLEASE NOTE: All information is based on personal experience + personal statistics gathered through many hours of high-level gameplay.

Meta Overview | November 20 Hearthstone Meta
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire seemed to have shaken up the meta the first week with some new archetypes. This week we see more of the same decks getting refined a bit. To me the meta feels like you either play against a hyper-aggressive deck or complete control-oriented late game deck. It is exceedingly difficult to succeed with a midrange deck because of the power level of these decks/cards.

Best Decks | November 20 Hearthstone Meta
Soul Demon Hunter, Evolve Shaman, and Secret Miracle Rogue still sit atop the list, being joined by Aggro Demon Hunter this week. These decks can consistently build a big board of threats and push a great deal of damage in the first few turns, forcing the opponent to draw early game removal or the game is simply over.
These top decks put you in a position where you must run certain cards to survive the early game, but also be able to clear multiple massive boards.

Closing Thoughts | November 27 Hearthstone Meta
This expansion has been a roller coaster of emotions for me. On one hand I love that there are new cards and a few new archetypes. On the other hand, the top decks are very similar to what they’ve been in the recent past, only getting stronger with a few new additions.

As a player that dislikes aggressive and combo decks, I am very hopeful for some balance changes or new decks arising soon. I will continue to attempt to innovate and I hope you do too!
