The most important part of being a team is working as a unit; helping one another, sharing our strengths and growing together. At HypeHorizen, that is something that myself and all other members do so well. Even though some of us play different games than the majority, the Hype team is always helping and willing to share tips and advice with others. Whether it’s gameplay or content creation, I fully believe we have set the stone for an example of being well-unified and growing.

As a Battlegrounds player, I am somewhere in the middle with my current skill level and MMR. I went a long period of not being able to increase my learning curve or my score, and I felt like I was in a rut. This rut started affecting my content creation and my self-esteem when it comes to e-sports, so I decided to reach out for help and find ways that I could continue learning and get out of the rough patch.

IamInShayne is a member of HypeHorizen as well, and is a higher MMR player with a lot of skill and talent. Having watched his streams before and seeing how well he played and climbed, I reached out and asked if it was okay to ask some questions. He was kind enough to spend some time teaching me some of the things he knew and ways that I could improve my gameplay. I started to learn things that I never knew before, strategies I never considered in very aggressive lobbies. He spent time spectating my games, helping me weigh out options and start placing higher in each game.

Because of his help and me putting his advice and tips to use, I am now climbing MMR consistently and am no longer in the frustrating rut I was in before. Although I still have a lot to learn, I am becoming more confident when making my in-game decisions, and even more confident that I understand why I’m making the plays I’m making. I used to make more panic decisions in the past when I didn’t know what to do, but now I understand how and why each action has a purpose.
This is just one example of how the members of HypeHorizen help support one another and contribute to each others’ individual growth. Although I stream individually, being connected to my team and feeling like I’m not alone in my journey is a great feeling. I feel more motivated and confident since joining Hype, and I know that no matter which speed I learn and raise my skill level at, I have a lot of talented, generous and hardworking people behind me and helping me along the way.
