Welcome IamInShayne to Hype Horizen

One of the newest members of Hype Horizen is up and comer IamInShayne, a Battlegrounds streamer that hopes to reign supreme in Blizzard’s autobattler. We had a chance to catch up with IamInShayne, and get his thoughts on the team.

How did you first learn of Hype Horizen?

I learned about Hype Horizen from the Hearthstone community definitely. I have seen multiple competitors in tournament settings and started noticing the label more and more in the Battleground community. I could tell that this was one of the more prominent teams that has streamers, similar to me, promoting content and performing well in events. I am super excited for what is in store, and plan to learn and expand my “Horizen” on this new adventure.

What platform do you stream on and why?

Twitch is the main platform that I stream on for many reasons. It is something easy to flip on and get going and I feel that I can produce higher quality on the spot content rather than editing and posting later to platforms such as Youtube. I do plan on doing this in the future, but it is currently in the works, and I need to better my editing skills to have time to post videos while working a full time job. It has been an extremely rewarding experience streaming. I have created many friends that I have never met face to face, and have seen outstanding growth in the past few months. I am extremely grateful for the bigger streamers that continuously show their support towards me being, Bofur, Slysssa, Sleepy, and countless others. I couldn’t have made this move without them on Twitch.

How did you get into gaming?

As most, it started off early for me. Watching my dad play super Nintendo growing up, eventually turned into me playing Super Smash Bro’s on Nintendo 64. The evolution continued to shooter games and finally into card games which I am currently finding my comfort zone. It is extremely fun testing the minds of the best Hearthstone players in the world and seeing how they handle situations. There is a lot to be learned every single day with this game and it has been the one that I enjoy the most!

Do you have a gaming idol, someone in Esports or gaming that you look up to?

I really look up to Bofur. He is always level headed and makes excellent risk based decisions at the right times in Battlegrounds. His channel has really exploded and I would love to see him take off to the level of Dogdog in the Hearthstone realm. He’s got all the tools.

What is the best part about streaming?

The best part of streaming for me is definitely the escape from reality and the totally encapsulated mindset you get into. I also come from a family of teachers, and love to continue the generational trend, in a more modern nerdy way, teaching others to play an extremely complicated card game.

Who is your “Arch Nemesis?”

My arch nemesis, along with many other Battlegrounds players is BeterBabbit. That man plays the game on another level and always seems to find a comp that is extremely strong and counters the opposition to a tee.

What is your mission as a top streamer?

My mission is a develop a healthy community that is fun to participate in. One day, I would love to really make an impact on smaller community streamers in the Battlegrounds scene similarly to the way that the bigger streamers have taken care of me. I always want to make it a point to give back because I was very small at one point and didn’t have anyone coming in chat. I know what that is like and I don’t want others to lose the encouragement needed to succeed.

Where you can find IamInShane:

I have been playing video games since before most of you were born, starting with Colecovision and an Atari 2600. Before esports were around, I played Rainbow Six 2: Rogue Spear at the highest competitive level. Now a father thrice over, I spend some of my extra time streaming games like Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone and most recently Fortnite.
